If you think Playing for the Planet Alliance is a team of the world's best gamers from planet Earth competing against extraterrestrial civilizations, you're not quite right.

Playing for the Planet is a UN-supported initiative, helping video game industry members to take real steps to reduce their environmental footprint.

And when we say "real steps," we mean it.

The alliance's performance is driven by specific and measurable commitments made by their members (whether it's reducing carbon emissions or sensitizing players to safeguarding the life of snow leopards in the Himalayas through special game integrations).

CM Games has been on board since day one, joining the alliance back in 2019 when it was launched at the UN Secretary-General's Climate Action Summit in New York. And our commitment hasn't wavered since because we firmly believe in the following: our mission as a company is not only to create virtual environments for the enjoyment of players but also to make the real world a better and safer place.

Sounds beautiful, you may think, but how exactly do you, as the Alliance's members, measure your impact? Well, for this purpose, Playing for the Planet releases an Annual Impact Report every year, and 2023 was no exception.

Over the past year, we've accomplished a great deal, from raising $700,000 to protect wild ecosystems to introducing environmentally friendly cardboard game packaging and developing sustainability tools to help developers measure, monitor, and decrease energy consumption.

And yes, CM Games' contribution is in there, too!

We're proud of our achievements but are not planning on resting on our laurels.
